Too much Sugar is Not Good for Your Health Take these simple steps to minimize it in your diet.
Two hundred years ago, the average person living in the US consumed two pounds of sugar in a year. In 1970, that number increased to 123 pounds per year. Today, the average American eats almost 152 pounds of sugar in just one year. This is equivalent to 3 pounds (or 6 cups) of sugar in one week! ”… According to the American Heart Association (AHA), the maximum amount of Added Sugars you should eat is 150 calories per day (37.5 grams or 9 teaspoons) for men and 100 calories per day (25 grams or 6 teaspoons) for women…” To put this into perspective, a 16oz coca-cola has 52 grams of sugar.
