Intestinal Bacteria verses Deadly Toxic Waste

To the avid health food lover, one of the most important restorative health remedies is to maintain a clean healthy colon.   And, although you can use all sorts of over the counter laxative products from your local pharmacy to help detoxify the colon, health conscious individuals prefer non-additive, gentler, more natural intestinal cleanse.   One of the most effective processes is to do a quarterly or annual fast.
Before you decide to do a fast, there are a few important things that you should know. *

Some researchers have suggested that “death begins in the colon” and to help avoid deadly diseases, such as various cancers, it is important to provide a daily proper probiotics (friendly/unfriendly bacteria) balance throughout the intestinal tract and to periodically flush the colon.  Unchecked, over time residue left from foods along the GI tract will create a thin mucous that builds up on the wall of the intestines and keeps the GI tract from functioning fully.  This build up slows the digestive process, compromises immune functions, minimizes nutrient uptakes, and eventually putrefies to become food for pathogenic invaders; thus providing a perfect opportunity for disease to take hold in the body.  *

Health food advocates believe that the body benefits from naturally cleaning out the intestines through the use of high-fiber foods followed by clear liquids. Eating lots of raw vegetables and fruits is an important part of the process.  An additional, liquid-only fast is necessary to complete the process. This natural cleansing process requires that you use some form of natural fiber stimulants such as husks or rhubarb root to get the bowels moving.  By gently encouraging the removal of built-up fecal matter harbored along the intestinal tract, you can greatly reduce your exposure to opportunistic disease causing organisms.  And, don’t forget to drink lots of filtered water, about 60 to 80 ounces a day. *

As an alternative, there are a number of colon cleansing kits that you can purchase online or from your local health food store. Check the contents for all natural ingredients that work together for optimal cleaning.  Most kits include a stimulant necessary to move your bowels along, liquids to help your fasting process, and some products to help soothe your intestines as you eat increased amounts of raw fruits and vegetables.  *

I suggest that you do your homework before making a purchase because some regimes are more difficult to follow than others.  If you want to start out with a simple, non-additive product, one that I have found which seems to work wonderfully is called, Aloe PURE™.  This is a pure aloe blend that contains the rind and whole leaf.  You can count on just one capsule to move the bowels in about 12 hours with no discomfort.   Aloe PURE™ can be used as a stimulant with raw fruits and vegetables for a couple of days, followed by a day of liquids.  This product is so gentle you can do a 1 or 2-day cleanse, monthly or quarterly. *

One important thing to remember about fasting, if you are not use to eating a lot of raw fruits and vegetables, is that you may experience a bit of stomach discomfort and mild spasms.
